| Jeff Weissman, Sales Manager and Handyman Jeff joined The Watershed Nursery staff in June, 2008 after retiring from a 12-year career teaching 4th Grade in Oakland. With a long-standing passion for ecology and the environment (after all, he was born and raised in Berkeley), Jeff’s work at the Nursery brings the perspective of the home gardener. He has designed, planted, and maintained a 1/3 acre garden at his home in the Oakland hills since 1981, a large part of which is devoted exclusively to California natives. As a long-time homeowner and self-taught handyman, Jeff brings to the Nursery a wide variety of skills that have contributed to building out, improving, and maintaining the Nursery’s infrastructure, from construction of our greenhouse and retail plant display tables to design, installation, and repair of irrigation systems, to design and development of raised bed demonstration gardens. In addition, Jeff regularly helps in the potting shed with planting and bumping up to larger containers. During the Nursery’s retail hours, Jeff’s focus is on assisting customers, answering questions, filling orders, and helping home gardeners like himself add California natives to their landscape. |
